We totally understand that being a mom is a full-time job and sometimes it's difficult to squeeze in a workout or even to prep a balanced meal. In the spirit of Mother's Day, we asked our CYBEROBICS mamas, Andrea Speir and Amy Bishop to find out how they stay fit. Here are some of their workout and nutrition tips. 1. How do you find time to workout? Andrea: I schedule my own workouts into my day, the same as I would with a client, an activity with Parker, a doctor’s appointment, etc. When you book your workout into your line-up of events during the day, you instantly make it a priority, and you are a priority! Staying strong is so important for your health, wellness and confidence. 2. What are some go-to workouts that are ideal for a busy mom? Amy: 20 minutes of non-stop moving: lunges, squats, pushups, rows, burpees, etc. Or a quick yoga practice, either flowing or restorative, depending on what’s needed that day! My newest CYBEROBICS workout, Sunrise Fit is perfect to moms on-the-go. 3. What are the best workouts for moms that are looking to get back into shape? As a mom, you’re tired from your super busy day, so finding a workout that will incorporate HIIT (high intensity interval training) is key. This method spikes your heart rate with short burst of cardiovascular exercise, which will help blast away an extra weight. Working low impact sculpting exercises in between your cardio bursts will help quickly tighten and chisel your body as well 4. What advice would you give to new moms that are eager to get back into shape? Amy: Have patience. Remember that you’ve grown a tiny human and that tiny human needs you constantly. When you are more crunched for time, build in exercise throughout your day. 5-10 minutes a few times a day will add up. 5. Why do you recommend yoga to moms? Amy: Not only is it great for the body, but also it is a gift to yourself. It allows you to slow down and check in with yourself. As a mom, life sometimes feels like it is about everyone BUT you, and practicing yoga gives YOU back to you. 6. Life can get pretty busy for moms, how do you stay motivated? Andrea: I stay motivated by choosing to do what I love. I personally love dance style cardio, Pilates, and sculpt training, so I look for workouts that include these types of elements. By doing that, I look at my workouts as almost a hobby or a fun activity vs. something that I “have to get in.” By doing that, I stay motivated and committed. *Be sure to check out our "Workouts Mom Will Love." on the app!
